Forest Restoration
Raise saplings in the nursery, prepare planting pits, and help maintain the young forest corridors planted by earlier volunteer batches.

Vana Sparsh is built and cared for by the same hands that visit it. Volunteers plant forests, teach in field classrooms, build with mud and bamboo, and work alongside the tribal communities who call this land home — not as spectators, but as working members of the movement.
How it works
Every volunteer placement is hosted directly with the community — so we run small batches, usually 2 to 10 people, for a minimum of two days. You'll be briefed on-site by the community lead for your track, work real hours alongside the team, and share meals cooked in the community kitchen. No prior experience is required for most tracks.

Work with mud, stone and bamboo on community buildings — mixing, laying and finishing walls the traditional way.
Assist with field classrooms for visiting schools and children's nature camps — leaf printing, seed walks, storytelling.
Help with organic farming, seed collection and the community kitchen that feeds guests and staff every day.
Learn and support Warli art, bamboo craft and other traditional skills taught by community artisans.
Photography, videography, design or teaching skills — if you have a skill to share, we'll find where it helps most.
Good to know
Stays are simple and shared, in keeping with how the community lives. Meals are included and are entirely vegetarian, grown largely on site. Volunteers cover their own travel to Vana Sparsh (1.5 hours from Mumbai); we'll share the best route once your placement is confirmed. There is no fee for most placements — longer or specialised placements may ask for a contribution that goes directly toward materials and community wages.
